A Few Words About the Art
In the line of the horizon where the earth meets the sky; where nature’s reflection symmetry meets self-reflection; where people’s choice is to freeze change or follow time; where the tourist’s eye seeks to capture the essence of not only the prominent but also the permanent - - this is where the magnificent art diary of John Field bears testimony !!..
-THREE – QUESTIONS
What do you call ART?
Any creative activity that does not need to involve calculation or any scientific method
Why are you an ARTIST?
Because I love to create and I do that through art after winding up my career as an engineer.
What is the message you bring to ART?
I find this beautiful and I would like you to too.
-TEN – FINISH THIS SENTENCE
Art is a weapon against ...insensitivity to the world around us.
Art standards are set by ...each individual artist for him/herself
If there was a Nobel Prize for Art ...the criteria would be making a difference for the better in the way most people see the world.
Favourite artist of all time ...Claude Monet
Favourite quote about art ...”Art has to move you, design does not…” David Hockney
Best way for getting out of an art block ... Leave your art to one side for a while and indulge in another art, which for me would be listening to music and/or rearranging my garden.
Tomorrow’s art will be whatever good artists make it.
Best advice to a young artist ...Learn good technique thoroughly, study what other artists have done and then go where the spirit takes you.
Best place to display art ...Where those most likely to enjoy it and be moved by it can see it.
Art isn’t finished until BEFORE ...you have an urge to make finishing touches
